The Cyber Patriot program was developed in 2009 by the US Air Force in to promote
interest in cybersecurity. The Cyber Patriot program prepares high school students
to compete in a cyber-defense competition once a year. Local winners compete at the
state level and then state winners advance to a national competition where they can

Career Options and Outlook
Networking/cybersecurity certificate students develop skills to design, build and
maintain secure small to medium-sized networks. In addition, students learn to apply
knowledge and skills to monitor, detect, investigate, analyze and respond to security
incidents. Achieve an industry certification for networking/cyber security professionals
from Cisco Systems and CyberOps Certification.

Our degree programs are accredited by the Association of Collegiate Business Schools
and Programs.
SCC launched its grant project "Working with Industry to Incorporate Cybersecurity
into Networking Programs," funded by NSF 17-568, Advanced Technological Education)
in June 2018. This three-year grant from the National Science Foundation will incorporate
cybersecurity into theComputer Technology Networking/Cybersecurity Electives Associate of Applied Science
degreeand focus on underserved populations including high school students and veterans.
