Any student who graduates with an associate in arts, associate in science or selected associate in applied science degree from SCC is guaranteed admission to the University of South Carolina Upstate.

How do I get started?
You can opt to join Upstate Direct Connect at any time during your two-year college career by contacting either the SCC Admissions Center (Dan L. Terhune Building, office 118; email admissions@sccsc.edu) or SCC Academic Advising Center (P. Dan Hull Building, office E-1; email advisingcenter@sccsc.edu) to request the Upstate Direct Connect application/agreement. If you are a new two-year college student:

- Submit an application for admission to SCC and request the Upstate Direct Connect Application/Agreement.
- Complete SCC admissions requirements for acceptance into one of the eligible Upstate Direct Connect programs
- Complete the Upstate Direct Connect application/agreement and submit the form to Yolanda Simuel in the SCC Admissions Center located in Dan L. Terhune Building on SCC's Giles campus.
- Meet with your SCC academic advisor to register for classes.
- Meet with your SCC academic advisor at regular intervals to maintain an appropriate
academic plan. When you have completed:
- 45 hours: meet with your SCC and USC Upstate faculty advisors and confirm status with USC Upstate. - Submit an electronic application for admission during the term in which you will complete 45 hours at SCC.
- Apply for graduation from SCC by the published deadline in the term you will complete your requirements.
- Verify your acceptance to USC Upstate.

There are many reasons to join as soon as you decide a bachelor's degree is your goal. As a member of Upstate Direct Connect, you'll have:
Guaranteed entrance to USC Upstate students graduating with AA, AS or select AAS degree. Minimum 2.0 GPA required. Accelerated admissions to USC Upstate provides smooth transition through the USC Upstate process including orientation, transcripts, advising, and financial aid.
Enhanced academic advising
Students receive comprehensive on-site advising from both SCC and USC Upstate advisors.
Priority registration at USC Upstate
Register for classes before many other new students.

Students who wish to pursue a career in nursing can complete their associate degree in nursing (RN) at SCC and then transfer to USC Upstate to complete their bachelor's degree in nursing (BSN).
