Graduation: What You Need to Know
A: Yes. You can find Advertised deadlines in the SCC Portal.

A: Yes Students must apply for graduation in order to receive an award.
A: Summer. Always select the actual term in which you will complete all course work. However, in order to have your name listed in the graduation program, the application must be received by the spring/summer deadline listed in the Student Planner/ Handbook.
A: Visit the Registrar's Office and fill out a paper application or go to your Portal account, select Self-Service -> Graduation Overview and submit an electronic application.
A: No You can either apply for the highest award or you can apply for the diploma during one term and the degree the next term.

A: A representative visits the Giles Campus in early- to mid-March to take orders. Caps and gowns are delivered to the Giles Campus in mid-April. Graduates are expected to order and pick up their caps/gowns on the advertised dates. These dates and times will be posted on the SCC Portal.
A: Reapply for the next term or the term in which you will complete all course requirements.
A: Not necessarily. SCC's graduation ceremony is held once per year. It consists of fall graduates and students who have applied to graduate during the spring and summer terms. In early May, final review of spring graduate files is still underway and summer graduates still have course work to complete.
A: Refer to the SCC Portal for specific dates to pick up awards in the Registrar's Office. Awards that are not picked up will be mailed.
